Ralph Ellison,Maya Angelou, Toni Morrison, Alex Haley, Alice Walker, Zora Neale Hurston - all have written outstanding novels. I particularly enjoyed <u>Beloved, Roots ,The Color Purple.</u>
Outstanding poets are Rita Dove and Cyrus Cassells.
