What do i avoid doing before i open a bird's cage???

Question

do i close all doors and windows so the bird can't escape
OR do i turn on exhaust fans so the bird doesn't overheat
What do i do i cant remember! plz help

close all doors and windows, fans will harm the surroundings to the bird.
