How do you multiply monomials without an exponent as one of the numnbers? The problem is 1 to the 4th times 1.

1 to the fourth times one to the first....add the exponents.
1^4 x 1^1 = (since 4+1 = 5) 1^5
1^4 x 1^1 = (since 4+1 = 5) 1^5
