I asked this question before but the website given to me didn't really help :(

Three friends arrive at an In late one night and rent a room for $30 (each of them contribute $10). THe next mornnig, the Innkeeper decides to give them a $5 discount because of a leak in the roof. Since he can't split the $5 evenly, he gives each of the guys $1 and pockets the rest
So, if each guy has paid $9 (for a total of $27) and the Inkeeper has $2 (for a new total of $29) where did the extra dollar go?

help would be wonderful! thanks :)

I already answered your question. Please check your previous post.
The web link provided gave the answer. I pasted it below.

The calculation was done wrong. The 2 dollars should not be added to 27 but subtracted to get 25 dollars. Put in another way, $25 is with the owner of the Hotel, each of the 3 guests received $1 from the clerk, and he has $2 in his pocket $25 + $3 + $2 = $30.

So there is _no_ dollar missing.
oh sorry, i guess i didn't not understand it...thx!
