My 1st science project and we have something to turn in each week from now till the science fair. this week it is the variables. Project from science buddies. I am doing-Ocean Currents: modeling the 'Global Conveyer Belt' in your Kitchen. Am I correct in my experimental design?
I have as my independent variable-temperature of the vegetable oil/thyme mixture measured in degrees centigrade. My dependent variables-- #1 Observe the pattern of fluid flow once the vegetable oil begins to heat up #2- Observe the location of individual flakes of thyme over time #3-Measure the temperature of the oil in different parts of the model #4-Measure the velocity of the vegetable oil/thyme mixture and different tmeperatures. My controlled variables would be-- Amount of vegetable oil and thyme. Is there anything I am missing? OR more importantly am I totally wrong??
