Solve the equation: Give your answer as a fraction in its lowest terms:
2x-5=7-6x
I'm getting -1/3 but i think that's wrong!?!

8x = 12
x = 12/8 = 3/2
x = 12/8 = 3/2

Add 6x and 5 to both sides.
8x = 12
Divide both sides by 8.
x = 1.5
8x = 12
Divide both sides by 8.
x = 1.5

your answer is -3 but in fraction must be -3/1. take your time to calculate your like terms.

Maybe I'm reading it wrong but it looks like two DIFFERENT answers. Mykmoloko how'd you come up with the answer -3, I'm trying to understnad the way the methods work. Thanks M
