cos and sin are equal in magnitude at 45 degrees from the axes in all quadrants
however they are opposite in sign only in quadrants 2 and 4
so

pi-pi4/ = 3pi/4 or 135 deg

2 pi - pi/4 = 7 pi/4 = 315 deg
