2x + y = 7
y = 7 - 2x
slope is -2
perpendicular slope is the reciprocal which is (1/2)
plug in
y - 6 = (1/2)(x - 4)
y - 6 = (1/2)x - 2
y = (1/2)x + 4
plug in for x
y = (1/2)(8) + 4
y = 4 + 4
y = 8
y = 7 - 2x
slope is -2
perpendicular slope is the reciprocal which is (1/2)
plug in
y - 6 = (1/2)(x - 4)
y - 6 = (1/2)x - 2
y = (1/2)x + 4
plug in for x
y = (1/2)(8) + 4
y = 4 + 4
y = 8
