How can you determine if two lines are perpendicular?

Their slopes are opposite reciprocals
e.g.
if one line has a slope of 2/5, then its perpendicular has a slope of -5/2
e.g.
if one line has a slope of 2/5, then its perpendicular has a slope of -5/2
