My teacher corrected a sentence, but wants me to explain why she is correct. I wrote: "Franklin acknowledges how difficult achieving perfection is, and how many have failed at it just like him." She corrected it to read: "Franklin acknowledges how difficult achieving perfection is, and how many have failed at it just like he has." Why is her version correct?

"just like him" is more "popular" language (speech)versus your teacher's "just like he has" is more sophisticated.(written)
