suppose you are an astronaut making a space walk outside your space station when your jet pack runs out of fuel. How can you use your EMPTY jet pack to get you back to the station?

throw the jet pack in the opposite direction of where the space station is. The equal opposing forces will mean that throwing the pack will actually propel you in the opposite direction that you threw it in, and since there is no friction in space, you won't stop until you hit the space station, and you won't stop if you miss, so don't miss.
