Many people are fascinated by outer space. School children learn about our solar system in school. Tv and radio announcers tell us what to watch for in the night sky. They tell us when the planets are brightest and whcih ones we can see with the naked eye. for years, people have thought that there might be life on one of the other planets. However, space explorations have not found life on other planets-yet.

1. One generalization given in the beginning of the passage is that space explorations have not found life on other planets-yet.

2. One fact that supports this generalization is the statement that for years, people have thought that there might be life on one of the other planets. This implies that the search for extraterrestrial life has been ongoing for a significant amount of time, but definitive evidence of life on other planets has not been found.
