Please help me. I can't find the answers anywhere!
1. When was the motel, now the Jekyll Island 4-h Center built?
2. What famous family had a home in Jekyll?
3. In which town is the university that oversees the 4-h center located in Georgia?
I would be grateful for any help at all! Thank you in advance!

The 4-H Center was originally the Dolphin Club & Motor Hotel. The group of african americans that built the structure formed in 1956 as the St Andrews Beach Corporation. In August of 1959 the hotel opened but the corporation folded & sold the hotel to the Jekyll Island authority later that year. THe hotel operated as such until the mid 60's closing in June of 66. It was then rented to youth groups & camps. In 1983, the University of Georgia College of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences Cooperative Extension 4-H program began leasing the property. Today year round 4-HEnvironmental Education, 4-H Camp and conferneces are held at the facility.

The University of Georgia's home base is Athens Georgia.
