How would you solve 23=1-d?
I don't even think there would be an answer to this.. can someone explain to me how to solve this? Thank you!

if you are solving for d then all you have to do is subtract both sides by one and then divide by a negative
d= -22

or add d to both sides and subtract 23
either way works

I'm confused? can you explain better for me?

ok so you have 23 = 1-d
If you are looking for d than you have to get d by itself.
To do this you can do it one of two ways. you can add D to both sides to get rid of the negative d (b/c you are looking for positive d). this would leave you with 23+d=1 then to get d by itself you have to subtract 23 from both sides (remember what you do to one side you have to do to the other).
so that would leave you with d = 1-23 which is d= -22.
OR if you want, you can subtract 1 to both sides so you are left with
23-1=-d which is 22= -d.
you cant have -d so you divide both sides by -1. so you would have
22/-1 = -d/-1 which would give you -22=d
