I'm doing proportions, and I'm kinda confused with this one problem..
x/3=1/5.
the way I do proportions is by cross multiplying, so I get 3=5x?
I don't know what my answer would be?

You're right.

Now divide both sides of the equation by 5.

3/5 = x

That makes sense, doesn't it? 3/5 divided by 3 = 1/5
