People are concerned about the large numbers of illegal aliens in the U.S. Many came in legally, but overstayed their visas. Others have sneaked in across our Mexican border.
Arguments against these immigrants include the fear that they will be unemployed and go on welfare with our tax dollars. A very weak argument is that illegal immigrants take jobs away from Americans. But most Americans don't want to be gardeners or work in agricultural fields. They don't want the low-wage jobs with poor working conditions that typically are taken by new immigrants.
