A function is an even function if it looks the same when you flip it over the y-axis (the middle line going up and down). This means if you have a number 'x' and you put in '-x' (the opposite), the answer will be the same. So, if you can say f(x) = f(-x), then it’s an even function! For example, if you have f(2) = 4, then for it to be even, f(-2) must also be 4!
