A rectangle has a width if 10 inches and an area of 5 square inches. What is the length of the rectangle?

Area = length x width. Let x = the length of the rectangle.

5 = 10x
5/10 = x
1/2 inch = x

I wonder if you stated the problem correctly. The length should be the long side (10") and the width should be the short side (1/2").
