Hmmm so my teacher wants us to go online and do some research on why Indians/Native Americans didn't like to sign papers.

Sign papers? Shouldn't one have a written language to do that? Should one be able to read a paper before signing it?
If I couldn't read or write, and someone insisted I should "sign" his paper, I would suspect him of cheating me. Indians had oral traditions, not written ones.

I thought that it was just because they thought the 'white men' were liars.
