Evaluate the logarithmic equation for three values of x that are greater than 2, three values of x that are between 1 and 2, and at x=2. Show your work. Use the resulting ordered pairs to plot the graph. State the equation of the line asymptotic to the graph.
y = log3 (x - 1)
y = log3 (x - 1)

Just make the graph like it says.
I would start with x = 4, x = 10, x = 28
when x = 2
log3(1) = loganything of 1 = 0
when x = 1
log3(0) = - infinity
the graph heads for - infinity along x = 1
so the asymptotic vertical line is x = 1
