May I have your help in solving this type of function ?

y = square root of x+1

I get a little confused when a radical is present in the function.

What are you trying to solve?
The radical simply means whatever answer you get, you must square root it.

X = 1, y = square root 2
X = 2, y = square root 3
X = 3, y = square root 4 or 2.
