Find the surface area and volume of each of the following
figures:
d.Right circular cylinder
v=pir^2h
pi(3)(3)(6)
pi(54)
v=169.6 cubic cm

sa=2pi r^2 + 2pi rh
2pi(3)(3)+2pi(3)(6)
2pi(9)+2pi(18)
56+113=169
Sa=169 square cm
is this right???

correct

Thank you Reiny. I thought I followed the steps correctly but I wasn't sure since they were almost the same answer. Thanks.

They were the same answers since in effect your cylinder had the same diameter as its height.

It would not have happened otherwise

i understand now. thanks for explaining!!!

If i was doing the pythagorean theorum and i had a triangle with a radius of 3 and height of 6 would this be the answer???
c^2=3^2+6^2
c^2=9+36
c^2=45
c=6.7

I don't know what you mean by the radius of a triangle ?

If the two short sides are 3 and 6 and you are finding the hypotenuse, your solution is correct.

thank you. sorry it was for a right circular cone that we had to use the pythagorean theorum for. would the answer still be correct?
