Poem 1: Sonnet for Change
In shadows cast by whispers of the past,
A world awakes beneath the weight of dreams.
Each voice ignites like sunrise, bold and vast,
Yet silenced echoes drown the brightest beams.
With every step, the ground beneath us shakes,
The roots of hope entwined in every fight.
We gather strength; our will no longer breaks,
For love, not fear, shall guide us through the night.
In unity, our hearts become a fire,
A blaze that melts the chains of apathy.
From every corner, rising fierce desire,
To shape a future where all can be free.
So let us rise, unyielding as the tide,
For in our hearts, the shift of worlds resides.
Poem 2: Free Verse: The Climate's Call
The earth speaks,
her voice a trembling hush,
a sacred prayer caught in the winds.
Mountains weigh heavy with the burden
of our neglect,
and oceans pulse with sorrow,
each wave a melancholic sigh.
Cicadas chirp the news of summers lost,
while winters stretch like tired limbs,
waiting for warmth that turns to ash.
Can you hear it?
The crack of ice,
the gasp of forests burning,
the silence of species spun to dust.
Yet in the cracks, hope emerges—
wildflowers daring to bloom
in the crevices of concrete jungles,
children raising their voices
like banners unfurled,
a chorus that rises, infectious and bright.
The call is clear:
“Awake!
The time to act is now!”
In our hands lies the power,
a seed of change waiting for the rain.
Let us nurture it,
let us fight for her,
this world we share—
a tapestry woven with life,
fragile yet fierce,
and undeniably ours.
