Oh, I think I am certified to answer this question condering that I have just finished that topic in math!
So, if you have 52 cards, and half the deck are red cards and half the deck are black cards, 52/2=26.
26 represents the number of red cards or 1/2 the deck,
so the ratio of red cards to black cards is 1:2

another easy way to do this is to think of red cards being half the deck, so 1/2, 0.5, ect.
all of these converted to a ratio is 1:2
