A woman, driving a golf ball off a tee, gives the ball a velocity of 28.0 m/s. The mass of the ball is 0.045 kg, and the duration of the impact with the golf club is 6 x 10-3 s.
3a. What is the change in momentum of the ball

impulse = Force x (time of contact)
= Final momentum of golf ball
= 0.045 kg * 28.0 m/s. \
= change in momentum

You don't need the time of contact to do part a. You would need it to compute the average force.
