Briefly describe how the Sun produces energy.

The Sun produces energy through a process called nuclear fusion, which occurs in its core. In this process, hydrogen nuclei (protons) collide and fuse to form helium nuclei under immense temperature and pressure conditions. This fusion releases a tremendous amount of energy, primarily in the form of gamma rays. As these gamma rays move outward through the solar layers, they are converted into other forms of energy, eventually radiating into space as sunlight and other forms of electromagnetic radiation. This energy production is what powers the Sun and provides heat and light to the solar system.
