I am to write a definition paragraph and was wondering if this was ok?
A comedian is a professional entertainer who will tell jokes or perform various other comic acts. Comedian is a male comic while comedienne is a female comic. Comedians can be distinguished from a clown as clowns wear make up and costumes, whereas comedians focus on a more verbal style of humor, telling jokes. Alternative comedy is more offbeat and experimental style, as contemporay comedians draw on their background to poke fun at themselves or political and cultural humor. Some comedians also use puppets for their audience. Comics sometimes foray into other areas of entertainment, such as film or television, when they have become much better known.
