It is not a person. San Saba is the name of the mission founded by the spaniards in remeberance of the day they got to the river (Holy Saturday--Santo Sabado). The mission was named, and the river and city followed.

Since this is not my area of expertise, I searched Google under the key words "<I>San Saba Texas</I>" to get these possible sources:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/San_Saba,_Texas
http://www.texasbeyondhistory.net/sansaba/index.html
http://www.tsha.utexas.edu/handbook/online/articles/SS/hcs5.html
It seems to be a place rather than a person.
However, since "san" means "saint" in English, I tried "Saint Saba" to get these possible sources:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Saba

In the future, you can find the information you desire more quickly, if you use appropriate key words to do your own search.
I hope this helps. Thanks for asking.
