Introduction as First Speaker for the Opposition Side:
Ladies and gentlemen, esteemed judges, and respected opponents,
Today, I stand before you to argue in favor of the legalization of sex work in Papua New Guinea. Our position is grounded in the belief that legalization is not just a matter of personal choice, but a necessary step towards public health, safety, and human rights.
Criminalization perpetuates stigma, drives sex work underground, and exposes workers to violence and exploitation. By legalizing sex work, we can create a regulated environment that protects the rights of workers, ensures access to health services, and reduces the risk of sexually transmitted infections and violence.
Let us approach this issue with empathy and a commitment to a safer, healthier society for all. Thank you.
