why is it so imporrtant to drink a lot of water when working out or doing sports

You Dehidrate, and then you may pass out. Water is goood :)

Thank you for using the Jiskha Homework Help Forum. You definitely do not want do dehydrate. That is why many people heavily involved in sports drink Gatorade to replenish their electrolytes.
