Two resistors, one 12Ohms and the other 18 Ohms, are connected in parallel. What is the equivalent resistance of the parallel combination?

That is correct.
the other way to think about it is to add conductance
Conductance = 1/resistance
1/12 + 1/18 = 3/36 + 2/36 = 5/36
so resistance = 36/5 Ohms
