Dear [Name of Academic Board],
I am writing to you on behalf of the environmental science students who unfortunately failed the CHE 431 course at level 4. As outlined in the points above, there were a number of factors that contributed to our inability to perform well in this advanced chemistry course.
Firstly, we did not have the opportunity to take chemistry courses in Year 2 & 3, which put us at a disadvantage when it came to understanding the concepts required for CHE 431. Additionally, there was a lack of guidance from course advisors who did not inform us about the need to take an extra chemistry course to better prepare for level 4.
Furthermore, unexpected tests and rumors of public holidays added to the stress and confusion surrounding the course, leading to lower scores for many of us. It is also important to note that students have different learning paces, with some students being able to grasp concepts more quickly than others.
Given the circumstances outlined above, we are kindly requesting the opportunity to take a supplement exam for CHE 431. This is our final year and many of us have commitments such as Industrial Training and teaching practical traveling programs, which leaves us with limited time to improve our grades.
We hope that you can understand our situation and provide us with the chance to demonstrate our knowledge and understanding of the course material through a supplement exam. Your understanding and consideration in this matter would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you for your attention to this appeal.
Sincerely,
[Your Name]
