I'm reviewing algebra and I need help with this equation. I'm a quick learner so an example could be fine. Thank you in advance.

h-(-8) = 3

h + 8 = 3
h = 3 - 8
h = -5

h + 8 = 3 , now subtract 8 from both sides
h +8 - 8 = 3 - 8
h = -5
