You pull upward on a stuffed suitcase with a force of 116 N, and it accelerates upward at 0.778 m/s2.
(a) What is the mass of the suitcase?
(b) What is the weight of the suitcase?

Assuming this is on earth where g = 9.8 m/s^2
Net Force = mass * acceleration
Net force = 116 - 9.8 m
so
116 - 9.8 m = m (.778)
solve for m
then weight = m g = 9.8 m
Net Force = mass * acceleration
Net force = 116 - 9.8 m
so
116 - 9.8 m = m (.778)
solve for m
then weight = m g = 9.8 m
