What are some benefits or advantages of being old (80 years old and up)?

Old people are retired from work and don't HAVE to do anything. They can do what they want. They can sleep until noon.

Old people have the wisdom that comes from having lived a long life.

No one expects them to dress fashionably.

If you've had a good job and saved for retirement, you wouldn't have to work. You should have a good home, perhaps a vacation home as well. If your health is good enough, you can travel. In a hostage situation, you would probably be let go. There is the Senior's Discount in many places. You would appreciate your family and friends plus have time to spend with them. You know what you don't like and do like. You can pretty much say what you think.
