You can multiply 5 to both sides of the equal sign to get rid of the denominator. Then divide to get rid of the variable, a. Last reduce fraction.

You can multiply 5 to both sides of the equal sign to get rid of the denominator, 5(100a)=4/5(5); The 5's will cancel each other out to 500a=4. Then divide to get rid of the variable a, 500a/500=4/500. 500 cancel each other out which leaves a=4/500. Last reduce fraction, a=1/125 or a=0.008.
