need to solve this equation 3/4 k - 1/6 =1/2

3 answers

make everything into twelfths, so you have...

9/12k-2/12 =6/12
take out the 2/12
so... 9/12k=8/12
so now you divide 8/12 by 9/12
= 8/12*12/9 = 96/108 and simplify to 8/9

so k = 8/9
okkkk..

move the 1/6 to the side with the 1/2. That will make 4/6 or 2/3.

it will equal 3k/4 = 2/3

cross multiply the 4 with 2 and 3 with 3 equaling k= 8/9
multiply each term by 12, the LCM to get
9k - 2 = 6
how easy now!
