It may looks weird, but 9.0*10<sup>1</sup> cm is the correct way to write 90 cm in scientific notation.
However, if it is 9.0 cm, then we do <b>not</b> write 9.0*10<sup>0</sup>. We simply write 9.0 and drop out the exponent.
