A diver running 1.1 m/s dives out horizontally from the edge of a vertical cliff and reaches the water below 2.4 s later. How far from the base of the cliff, in metres, did the diver hit the water?
d=(1.1)(2.4) + 1/2 (9.80)(2.4)^2
25.54 but the answer says 2.64. I don't understand what i am doing wrong.

you have mixed horizontal with vertical. the gravitational force is in the vertical.
d= 1.1*2.4 in the horizontal.
d= 1.1*2.4 in the horizontal.
