Gervais ate 1/3 of a aguette with his dinner. Chantel ate 1/4 of the leftover bagette as an evening snack. What fraction of the baguette did Chantel eat as a snack.

My answer is 1/12. Am I correct?

of means times so 1/4 x 2/3 = ??

Gervais ate 1/3 which left 2/3 for Chantel.

This won't help much 11 years later but... You take 2/3 and multiply by 1/4 because Gervais ate 1/3 and 2/3 is left for Chantel. Chantel ate 1/4 OF that 2/3 so you multiply the two. The answer is 1/6
