A sulfur oxide is 50.0% by mass sulfur. This molecular formula could be?....IS IT NOT SO2???

Yes, it could be SO2. But can you calculate it to show it could be SO2?

Take the sample of 100
100-50=50g of Oxygen
S Mole= 50/32.065=1.5625
O mole=50/16.00=3.125
then we take the smallest and divide by it.
s=1.5625/1,5625=1
O=3.125/15625=2_______So2
