There are drugs can can control HIV, so that it is not lethal. But these drugs have side effects, they can cause diarrhea. Because you have to take the drugs every day, these sort of side effects will lower your energy levels.

Having worked in a Pharmacy, I concur with Count Iblis. There are drugs to help supress the HIV virus but they also supress the immune system as well. You have to live "carefully" knowing what to avoid and realizing when the symptoms tell you it's getting stronger.
