if you need tan 7.5 degrees you would get
.1316525
if you want tan 7.5 radians that would be
2.706

if the question asked for the "exact" value of tan 7.5º

you would first find tan 15º by using
tan 15º = tan(45º - 30º)
= (tan45 - tan30)/(1 + tan45tan30)
= (√3 - 1)?)√3 + 1)

then use
tan 15 = 2tan7.5/(1 - tan^2 7.5)

let x = tan 7.5º
then solve the quadratic
(√3 - 1)?)√3 + 1) = 2x/(1 - x^2)

gets a bit messy, but hang in there.

check your answer by using your calculator.

tan 15º should have ended up as

(√3 - 1)/(√3 + 1)
