Something to consider in handling of units:
1.00 g/mL = 1 g / 1 mL
1 g / 1 mL = 1000g / 1000mL = 1 kg / L
The above steps show that a density of 4.5 g/mL is equivalent to 4.5 kg/L.
Using a density of 4.5 kg/L should make it possible to get the volume in directly in liters without the need to change units at the end.
