Find the solutions of the equation 3x^2 – x – 4 = 0.

Factor it into (3x - 4)(x + 1)

Then set it equal to 0.

(3x - 4)(x + 1)=0

3x = 4
x = 4/3

x = -1

Solutions are x = 4/3, -1
