One of the things you can learn to do this summer is use Google effectively.
Type the keywords frozen yogurt recipe into the Google search box and you'll find more recipes than you could ever possibly use.
When I do this, I search through several recipes until I find one that sounds good and contains ingredients that I have on hand.

Get involved with something -- several things.
You've mentioned starting a day care center. Volunteer to help at a day care center.
You've mentioned becoming a cook. Experiment with different recipes. Cook several meals a week for your family, using new recipes.
Can or freeze fresh produce to eat next winter.
Make your dress.
Find audio programs on line to improve your Spanish. I'm sure Sra can help you find good ones.

Start a journal, write in it each day, and rewiew what you have written. After a while, you get to become a good writer, and reader.

Hmmm. The purpose of keeping a journal is to MAKE you a great writer, reader, and thinker. It works. Poetry in it is ok, Elizabeth Barrett Browning wrote much of that in her Journal.
But poems need editing, and revision. That is hard to do in a Journal.
Here is a free computer journal that allows editing. It is password protected to keep prying sister eyes out.
