Didn't you go into the third link? I posted a search for "free dress patterns online" -- see those words in the search link??

Frankly, I don't think you'll find much that's very good AND that's free online!! You get what you pay for, you know!

Patterns are expensive these days, I think. I used to make my own clothes and then my daughter's clothes, too, but since Target and Walmart have such inexpensive and good children's clothing, sewing hardly seems worth the effort unless it's a very special dress for a very special occasion.

I agree with Writeacher. I don't think you'll find a free dress pattern online -- or anywhere. You might see if you can borrow one from a friend, though.

As she said, you get what you pay for. Since you're new at dress-making, I urge you to spend the $10 (or whatever) to buy the pattern you want. It will have good instructions for you to follow. With small modifications and different fabrics, you can use the same pattern over and over again.

i need to sew what is called an abaya (or jilbab), and i won't find a pattern for that anywhere, so i was going to use a dress pattern, and add sleeves...but i didn't find any

i will try to cut it out without a pattern...let's hope it goes well

still, if you guys find something, please let me know
