I've done that a few times. I write up a long response, and it takes me a minute to understand that I hit "Current Questions" instead of "Post Answer."
Try it again. If it fails again, there should be some kind of message to you, such as you've used a URL or webaddress or something. If there's no message, either you hit the wrong button or your post included numbered or bulleted list. Jiskha doesn't like those!!

Ms. Sue
Type it on an email form and send it to yourself. Then you can copy and paste it.

Try Ms. Sue's suggestion. We do not operate with email between students and teachers.
You could also type it up in a Word or Works word processing file and then copy and paste -- as long as there are no numbered or bulleted lists.
Then at least you wouldn't have to completely retype if it still won't post. It'll be there (either in email or in a word processing file) so you can go over it with a fine-toothed comb, so to speak, and find what Jiskha thinks is a URL.

This has happened to me often. And I think it's the periods. Because after I've inserted a slash separating the period and the sentence, I was able to post.
Here's an example of what I meant/.
Slash between period and sentence fixes the problem for me. It's probably a 'bug' in the Jiskha website.
