When a word ends in "Phobia" what kind of word is it? is it a noun, adjective verb?

Words that end in -phobia are nouns. In fact, phobia itself is a noun. It means an irrational fear.

claustrophobia = fear of enclosed places

agoraphobia = fear of open places or crowds

acrophobia = fear of heights
