How would you use a pulley system with one rope to pull at a single item at two points simultaneously?

The free ropes of two block and tackle pulley systems could be joined to pull an object in two places.

Or you could just hang a rope over two pulleys on a ceiling, tie both ends to the object to be lifted, and pull the rope in between the pulleys.
